Money Heist Season 6 Plot
Tokyo, Denver (Jaime Lorente) and Manila (Belen Cuesta) barricaded themselves in the kitchen of the Bank of Spain and ended up in a firefight with Commander Sagasta and his military unit.
Caesar Ganda, the bank’s bodyguard, was left with a crimson face after a clever trick with a hand grenade, alerting Tokyo’s on/off lover Rio to the possibility that his friends were in danger . Rio uses the team’s jackhammer to start breaking through the ceiling to gain access through the floor of the room in an effort to save them.
In an attempt to penetrate, Sagasta began to drill through the walls, and a subsequent shot through the holes rendered some of his men ineffective and Tokyo badly injured. Her bulletproof vest may have saved her life, but she had lost the use of her limbs as a result of her injuries.
However, the only safe way out of the kitchen was down an elevator shaft, which would have required them to descend many floors using cables. Tokyo couldn’t make it due to her injury, so she persuaded Denver and Manila to go with her. She wanted them to layer soft items on the bottom of the chute so she could jump up and join them.
Rio is able to make a small hole to reach Tokyo, but it is too small for her to escape. The army burst into the kitchen and opened fire on Tokyo before the elevator jump was made possible. She accepted her fate despite being overwhelmed, but not before detonating the grenades strapped to her chest in an attempt to drag the team down with her and save the rest of her team.
The group came to terms with Tokyo’s emotional loss in the finale.
The big question now is whether his narration of the series will continue after his death, or if the baton will be passed to someone else – and if so, who?
We also don’t know what happened to Helsinki, who was stuck under a pillar and now needs a leg amputation, or Stockholm, who self-injected morphine.
The first half of season five also seems to have spent a lot of time making Rafael (Patrick Criado) a key character in future episodes. We learn how Rafael was tricked into committing a heist with his father Berlin (Pedro Alonso) through a series of flashbacks. He’s made it clear that he doesn’t want to follow in his late father’s footsteps, leading many Money Heist viewers to wonder if he’ll end up saving the day in the show’s final season.
