Madrid, March 8, 2022 – FTI Capital Advisors Spain (“FTICA”) acted as sole M&A advisor to ACCIONA Energía in connection with the acquisition of a majority stake in Eqinov, a leading company in energy efficiency based in France.

This transaction represents ACCIONA Energía’s entry into the French market. ACCIONA Energía, listed on the Spanish stock exchange with a market capitalization of approximately €10.0 billion, is the world’s largest developer, owner and operator of renewable energy, with a total installed capacity of 11.2 GW in the world. September 30, 2021, with a presence in 16 countries on five continents.

Based in Paris, Eqinov offers its services in three areas: the financing of energy efficiency projects, as one of the main operators on the French market for Energy Saving Certificates (CEE); the enhancement of the flexibility of energy consumption, including the remote management of the energy consumption of its customers and the participation in the capacity and curtailment mechanisms of electrical systems; and energy efficiency consulting services through energy audits, the implementation of energy management systems (ISO 50001) and on the design, engineering and implementation of energy optimization projects.

For ACCIONA Energía, this transaction will complement Eqinov’s energy and decarbonization services with its renewable energy solutions and self-consumption and service projects. ACCIONA Energía will also expand its range of energy services offered to its global customer base and in the markets in which the company operates, particularly in Spain.
