Barclays Corporate and Investment Bank today announces the appointment of Gonzalo Ardura as Head of Investment Banking in Spain. Barclays’ presence in Spain dates back 47 years.

Gonzalo, with 18 years of investment banking experience, extensive client relationships and strong leadership skills, will continue the momentum and further grow the business in Spain in his new role.

Gonzalo joined the Investment Banking team in Spain in 2009 and was promoted to Managing Director in 2018. During his career at Barclays, he was instrumental in originating and executing many of the most most relevant to the Spanish market, including the private takeover of Masmovil and the subsequent acquisition of Euskaltel, the €7 billion capital increase of Cellnex, and more recently the entry of KKR Infra as a minority shareholder in Reintel.
